Privacy Policy — Awooo
Last updated: July 22, 2026
1. Introduction
This policy explains what data is processed when you use Awooo, a local multiplayer werewolf party game, and how it is protected.
Awooo's principle: the game is played locally, without any account, and your data stays on your device except for the specific cases listed below.
2. Data controller
- Publisher: Mathieu Vincensini, sole proprietor (trade name: Nearby Games)
- SIRET (French business ID): 881 449 235 00053
- Email: support@nearbygames.io
- Country: France
3. What we do NOT collect
- No account is required: no name, email, password or phone number
- No geolocation data
- No advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID) — the app contains no advertising
- No banking data (payments are processed by Apple and Google)
4. Data processed and purposes
a) Nickname and avatar (stored on your device)
The nickname and avatar you choose are saved locally on your device. During a game, they are transmitted directly to the devices of the players around the table (local Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection), never to a server.
b) Voice narration of nicknames
So that the game's voice can pronounce players' nicknames, they are occasionally sent to our text-to-speech service (secured proxy + speech synthesis provider). They are used solely to generate the game's audio, are not associated with any identifier, and are not kept beyond the technical processing.
c) In-app purchases and subscriptions — RevenueCat
Purchases are made through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Our provider RevenueCat (policy: revenuecat.com/privacy) receives an anonymous installation identifier and the transaction history in order to restore your purchases. We never have access to your payment data.
d) Push notifications — OneSignal (only with your consent)
If you accept notifications, our provider OneSignal (policy: onesignal.com/privacy_policy) processes a notification token, an anonymous identifier and the app language, in order to send you our announcements (e.g. new roles). You can withdraw this consent at any time in your phone's settings.
e) App updates — Expo
At launch, the app checks with the Expo service (expo.dev/privacy) whether an update is available; this technical request contains no personal data.
f) Crash reports
In the event of a crash, a technical report is stored locally on your device to be displayed at the next launch. It is not transmitted automatically.
5. Device permissions
- Bluetooth / nearby devices / local network: used only to connect players' phones together during a game. On some Android versions, the system requires the "Location" permission to allow Bluetooth scanning: Awooo never accesses your position.
- Notifications: only if you accept them.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Performance of the contract: running the game, purchases, purchase restoration
- Consent: push notifications
- Legitimate interest: security, fraud prevention, technical diagnostics
7. Data retention
Data stored on your device is deleted with the app. With our providers: purchase history is kept for the duration of the commercial relationship (purchase restoration); the notification subscription is deleted when you withdraw it or after uninstalling.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. To exercise them: support@nearbygames.io. You may also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
9. Children
Awooo is a party game intended for teenagers and adults, which does not collect personal data for commercial purposes and contains neither advertising nor online social features. Any purchase made by a minor requires the prior consent of their legal guardian.
10. Security
Exchanges with our providers are encrypted (HTTPS). Connections between phones during a game are local and encrypted by the system (Google Nearby Connections).
11. Changes
This policy may be updated; the date at the top of the document prevails. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on the stores.
